Here is the right hand that I have created for the soldier to go and what I did first for this is I created a box first and extruded them out to look like the size of my hand and I extruded them to show my knuckles then what I did is added a hypernurbs so It would then look like the image below then I did some rotating of the hand sorting out all the edges that needed levelling out and then the left hand will be ready to add to the body when completed. What I am doing is I am making all the files as News so I can then merge all the files together.
